Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good acting saves this one
The good acting keeps you interested in this, but the ending is bad. Poorly written ending, I thought.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - it, al !!!
this film is one of al pacino,s best work.up to tis film i never thought al pacino can be so funny!! this film prove i was wrong!!!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - ranting raving shouting but sensitive al
has any actor besides al pacino made such a fine career for himself by screaming? the logical absurdities of the movie weaken it as the film tries to tread the line twixt sidney lumet and robert altman, but hey, pacino IS fun, and the movie introduced jeffrey tambor and christine lahti and craig t nelson to mass audiences. fun, but nothing great.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - ... "I'm a loyal Colts fan"

Attorney Arthur Kirkland (Al Pacino) is sent to jail for contempt of court by Judge Fleming (played to perfection by John Forsythe, who was also brilliant in 1967's "In Cold Blood" and perhaps best remembered as the voice of Charlie in "Charlie's Angels" television series). In a bizarre twist of fate Judge Fleming (for obvious political reasons) has hired Kirkland to represent him in court on a rape charge. In the opening statement to the jury Kirkland does an about face in one of Pacino's most explosive scenes of his film career.

Written for the screen by Barry Levinson (who would later go on to direct Rain Man), 1979's "...And Justice For All" (although a bit dated by todays standards) boasts an all-star cast with Jack Wardon (The White Buffalo), Lee Strasberg (The Godfather II), Jeffery Tambor, Craig T. Nelson & Dominic Chianese (The Sopranos & Dog Day Afternoon) and still holds up well considering the cut and run plots and the horrible film (a generic disco era) score. This still remains one of Al Pacino's better films in spite of all its tragic flaws.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Putrid
The plot is so contrived and the acting is just SO BAD. My copy is in a landfill somewhere, right on top of Al Pacino's career.

Amazon.com is offering a so-called Black Friday special on Eye-Fi Share:
The 2 GB Wi-Fi-enabled Secure Digital card normally runs $90; it's $65 while the sale lasts.

Given that Eye-Fi introduced a limited-time-only 4 GB "Anniversary" model that replaced the 2 GB Share version in its current line-up, and that the Anniversary model was $130 list but $100 for Costco members, it's pretty clear that the 2 GB won't re-appear, the 4 GB model will drop in price, and Amazon's acting as a clearance center.

The Eye-Fi Share lets you upload pictures over a local network to a designated computer, or upload via a Wi-Fi network for which the Eye-Fi is configured to connect over the Internet to Eye-Fi's servers, and from there to a specified photo-sharing, social-network, or photo-printing service.

I'm a fan of the Eye-Fi, although I favor the currently $130 Explore model (see my review), which comes with geotagging (via Skyhook Wireless) and adds a year of included uploading via Wayport locations (now part of AT&T).

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?
