Get Real
I LOVE WKRP and do believe it was the funniest program on TV. I will live with the music cuts and buy this set because it's the only game in town. If and when they release the original programs I'll buy that too and give the old set to a friend. I watched the 2 part pilot on Fancast and what I saw was one of the most talented ensembles that has ever performed on TV. For the cuts I rate it 3 stars. If it was uncut, the funniest thing ever on TV would get 5 stars from me. Yes, it is a shame that the original uncut versions aren't available to us, but get real! These are worth seeing again. And if you've never seen WKRP, boy do you have a treat in store for you.

As good as I remembered
I watched WKRP the first time around as a young adult and always enjoyed it. I was apprehensive ordering it as I had heard the negatives on lack of the original music. I really don't think it detracted from it at all and it sure was good to see the "flying turkeys" again.

Why don't licensees learn from Guitar Hero???
Guitar Hero has reintroduced a new generation to some great, classic rock, and the artists have seen sales revitalized as a result. Why doesn't Fox use this as leverage to get the music licensees on board with these DVDs? These shows only had short clips of the music - nothing worthy of bootlegging - and could spark tremendous interest and generate sales the same way as video games. I would think licensees would be scrambling to get their music heard again, with the declining rate of CD sales! They should just ask for appropriate credits, so that viewers can easily track down the songs to buy them later! What DJ today is even remotely as cool as Johnny Fever??? If I were an artist, I'd want him on record as digging my music!

After having read the overview and reviews...
I have decided to NOT buy this product. I liked the show so very much, and was excited that it was out on DVD, but I also will not spend money on a hatchet job. I agree that Fox cheated the marvelous actors out of their due, and that if one is going to do something, let it be done right. It would have been worth the little extra. If there really was no other way but to compromise, (and I don't believe that), at least it could have been done without cutting so much. The others' suggestions are all very good valid ones. I'm just one fan and only one opinion, so here there you have it!

Good show, very dated
I never watched this show as a kid. Watching it now is funny--it's VERY 70's. Very dated, but in a fun way. I enjoy watching it. Many people have written about being upset that the original music isn't there, but I found that it didn't detract from the enjoyment at all.
