Editorial Review:

Amazon.comMovies with 'wacky' titles are almost never any good, and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! was intentionally made to be an instant golden turkey. Despite that, and the grade-Z production values, this is a regularly funny film. You need to be a fan of the kind of low-budget horror movie it's spoofing, and you need to be very forgiving of the technical ineptness and frequent clunkers, but it works. The story? Well, tomatoes attack, basically. Jack Riley and the San Diego Chicken are in it, and that genuinely alarming helicopter crash you see in an early scene was a real accident. Seen now, the whole ratty affair brings back agreeable memories of the circa-1978 college-movie/midnight-cinema era, when seeing this film was virtually unavoidable. The sequel, Return of the Killer Tomatoes! (with a young George Clooney), is actually an even funnier film. Director John De Bello would continue to squeeze the Tomatoes franchise for years to come. --Robert Horton

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - cool film
This is a cool film. I have always liked the film becouse it is unique. I like the idea of killer food. Its funny.I first saw it years ago and am pleased to have it in my movie collection.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Excellenet Silly Camp
This is one of the best original silly camp movies made. As a spoof of horror fiction, it does not merely mimic an existing popular movie, it creates its own scenario and then runs (wild) with it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - One of the best worst movies ever!
I first saw this film on Elvira's show back in the early 80's, and I've loved it ever since. It's stupid, silly, and brilliant. It's a 'horror' film you can watch with a six year old, and never worry about anything even remotely scary. The plot is wafer thin, but somehow it all holds together. Watch it for a laugh, but know that it's great, but in no way good.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - better than throwing tomatoes at your friends
THIS is the worst horror movie of all-time. Either that or the best comedy movie of all-time. I can't decide which. Many years ago, soon after the movie was released as a VCR tape, my family rented the movie for us all to sit down one Saturday night and watch. We were all too busy laughing at the extremely cheesy action scenes of tomatoes actually attacking people. One scene showed a bunch of tomatoes attacking a dead woman on the floor. This is nothing but the silliest, cheesiest, and most bizarre film there probably is or ever WILL be. Maybe that's why people still remember it today. The positive reviews are probably just because people actually enjoy watching it... and in fact, that's why I'm giving it 5 stars too, haha. That's the ONLY reason though.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Pretty Awesome Spoof...
Now, I'm not trying to say that this movie is the greatest, but it is genuinely funny--for a spoof--meaning that it is excessively silly but will have you laughing

The fact that I'm able to type this blog entry less than a week after the operation has me hopeful that recovery will be quicker than I was led to believe, but it will still be a few weeks before I'm able to really tackle any serious work.
