Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - "We use your dead as vessels!"
The Good Things
*The Blu-Ray has excellent video quality; easily one of the best transfers ever. The movie is much more colorful than I remember. Very clear, crisp picture. No grain. Even though most of the movie is dark, it looks phenomenally great. The sound quality is great too.
*Includes both the theatrical cut and director's cut of the movie. Also has a bunch of special features, some of which came from the older DVD release (essays and notes), and others that are brand new (documentaries, new commentaries, and some other stuff). All of this is on disc one; disc two is a digital copy.
*The movie itself has some good action and special effects. Moreover, it has a very slick and interesting tech-noir style and production design (overall, it's like a retro version of "Blade Runner").
*The story is interesting. It didn't make total sense when I first saw it years ago, but repeated viewings make things clearer.
*Characters are not bad. Has a good cast.
*Pretty good writing; some memorable lines.

The Bad Things
*As said above, storyline may be hard to get on first viewing.
*Kind of slow at parts (but if you like the style, it'll be interesting all the way through).

The movie was a pleseant surprise when I saw its former DVD release years ago; it was stylish and had some great action and special effects (especially during the movie's finale). Repeated viewings have been even more interesting. The Blu-Ray is most worthwhile, for both its video quality and its array of special features. Definitely reccomended to sci-fi fans.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Movie
This was a blind buy for me. I read a lot about this movie and it seemed like the type of movie I would enjoy (I love Blade Runner and The Matrix). I was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and am glad I purchased it.

PQ and AQ are great. You will need to see this movie in a dark room so you can see all the details of the great set.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic movie. Recommended highly for those who haven't seen the original
This is a fantastic movie. If you already own the original, it's not worth getting this disc. It's got the usual fill-in-the details bits, but nothing earth shattering.

That said, if you haven't seen the movie, definitely watch it! One of the best Sci-Fi out there...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A TRUE CLASSIC FOR THE NEW AGE
EXCELLENT PICTURE QUALITY ON THIS BLUE-RAY DISC
THE MOVIE ITSELF IS A CLASSIC FOR THE NEW AGE OF FILM.
THE SOUND IS EXCELLENT ALSO AND DID NOT GET "THE POP" FROM THE DTS MASTER AUDIO.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE FILMS OF THIS GENRE.
THIS IS THE COPY YOU WANT IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE STANDARD VERSION.
NOW I HAVE BOTH.
THE PRICE AT AMAZON IS THE LOWEST I'VE SEEN ANYWHERE
I NO BRAINER IF YOU ARE BUILDING YOUR BD LIBRARY

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Simple review.
BOTH versions of the movie are on this blu-ray disc. The sound and picture are great even if the people seem soft in a few scenes. The extra features are nothing to write home about, but there are more here than on the standard DVD version (non Director's Cut). It also comes with a free download of the movie in standard format. Overall, I'm very pleased.

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?
