Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A little remake that goes a long way.
To say that ouse on Haunted Hill is merely a remake is, perhaps naive. As an avid horror movie watcher, I have found this version of House of Haunted Hill to be my favortite. Although it does vary considerably from the original, the movie give the watcher the ability to consider it a new film. For a film made in 1999, the effects are of an ok level, although my only complaint is the poor use of CGI. On other occasions, such as the jumpy movment of the ghosts, it is extremely well done.
The story is very well told, and one is able to follow the characters and their motives well. Even when the storyline twists and turns, it doesn't confuse to the point where one would lose it, which is a good attribute.
One part of the film, which always stands out in my mind, is Mr. Price's hallucination. This disturbing, and very artful, combination of images fit perfectly with the film, and gives me the chills time after time. To me, that is the mark of a good horror movie.
Overall, House on Haunted Hill is a perfect movie for any horror movie buff, and it comes highly recommended from this party. A perfect 10.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - House on Hauted Hill dvd
The weekend just before Halloween I decided I wanted a copy of House on Haunted Hill because I was unable to find it anywhere on my cable system. I ordered the movie on Sunday afternoon and I received it on Tuesday(the day before Halloween). The dvd arrived in excellent condition and so quickly that I was able to watch it w/friends on Halloween nite. Because of this experience, I have chosen to do quite a bit of my Christmas shopping w/ Amazon, confident in the knowledge that Amazon fulfills it's orders quickly and the their products arrive in perfect condition. Thank you Amazon.com!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Ok, but not great...
House on Haunted Hill is great movie for those that don't want to really think about what they are watching.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - FREAKY, SCARY, AND CREEPY!!!
my kind of movie. it had the goodies that i like, enough to make me jump. the whole storyline was good. people would do anything for money. they got in to deep. crazy stuff starts happening, freaky looking creatures start appearing, torturous stuff, but i really liked it. i've watched it lots of times, and it still has that same effect on me. where my hair stands on end. crazy, but i love those kinds of movies. the actors were good, geoffery rush, brilliant man, love this guy and he can act no doubt. any role this man is great. on the priates of the carribean as well. they play there roles so well, it's just believable. i certainly think this is a good one to give you a scare anytime of the year.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This is way better than the original.
I watched this movie from beginning to end, and I have to tell you that it was the best experience I've ever had. The high gore content is what makes this film a classic. I also love how they yell, and shriek about the cituation they're in. I love Chris Kattan's Watson Pritchard. It's much much better than Elisha Cook Jr. This movie was quite a thrill ride, and is good to watch with the lights off. This is much better than the original. Highly recommended.

The proposed acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe is not a done deal. Both companies are under the scrutiny of the SEC, and it must also be approved by stockholders. While Macromedia/Adobe gives this process three to nine months, some industry analysts feel that is being overly optimistic. But assuming that all is goes as planned, Macromedia will cease to exist. Everything will be in the Adobe name and with the Adobe interface.

One of the most powerful features in new version of Oracle ADF is possibility of declarative creation JSF/ADF RC controls, in truth - extending and parameterizing existing componets to use them as libraries in other applications.
In my past projects I must write the same code for reapited functionalities again and again. One of them was operation "Remove new row" so as to user could resign from data inserted to a form but uncommitted. Obviously we have "Rollback" data control, but it clears row selection on the all iterators belongs to the same application module.

To be frank, I don't know why Oracle programmers didn't implement this mechanism as one of the default data contols for iterator, so - "nobody's perfect".
After creation new Generic project we need to add ADF Model Generic Runtime library - it's required to pass to component as attribute DCIteratorBinding class.

We also must create managed bean, define action for our button and next, bind this action to button. Source code for our command control should looks like below:

After packaging component to JAR file, we can add it to the main project. After this step it should appears in the Component Palette

The last step is to drag our component onto the page and using Expression Builder to bind an iterator to remove uncommitted data.

Last weekend, with the Southland engulfed in a fiery apocalypse, local residents were forced to stay inside while their air filters registered dust at Terror Alert Red levels. The air outside smelled like a bonfire, and locals marveled at how their throats hurt after just a short walk outside to get the paper. Meanwhile, their dogs and children ran circles around each other in the house, stir crazy from too much time spent indoors.

There was nothing to do but watch houses going up in flames on the local news. So the locals and their dogs and their children sat, with their eyes glazed over, watching fire, fire, fire, hypnotic fire, for hours on end.

Occasionally, a news anchor would interrupt the steady 24-hour feed of burning homes to interview emergency-shelter residents who'd spotted their homes burning on the 24-hour feed. "How does it feel to lose your big house, with all of your stuff inside?" the news professionals asked, affecting sad eyes and a tone of faux-sympathy.

Some shelter residents were visibly distraught when the news people asked them this. Some of them cried into their hands, and some despondently stared into the middle distance without speaking. But others shrugged and said, "It's just stuff." -- a response that made the news people flinch and tug at their expensive suits as their minds struggled to grasp a world without oversized homes filled with oversized closets filled with oversized things.

Finally, one woman laughed loudly right at the camera and said, with a glint in her eye, "I'm so glad I just redid my kitchen!"
