Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Jumper - Why don't I have that capability
I have watched this movie three times now. Just think about the concept, a human being just thinking where he wants to be and then being there. Not only that, taken things with him as he jumps from one location to another. The concept of the marvel comics superhero teaming up was mentioned from one of the jumpers to the other. So is the Jumper a superhero? Actually when you think about it, He is one of the most power superhero ever written on paper. None of the super hero's could hold him. He is all powerful. I love the concept.

There are two types of Jumpers, ones that kill, and others that don't. But it seem all of them steal. Money is no object as they can jump into any bank and take what they want. Jump into any store and what they see is theirs.

I am just crazy about the concept. The movie I thought was well done. Doug Liman, the Director can be proud of a job well done. Hayden Christensen was much more animated than Star Wars. May God, he is an actor, can you believe it?

Good Job, now please inject me with the solution so I can jump, I need the money.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Hero's are selfless, not selfish
Fun action, interesting idea...terrible hero! Hayden Christensen is mostly to blame for providing no endearing qualities whatsoever.

If the main character was likeable in any way this movie may have had a chance to be fondly remembered on video. Alas, the character has no redeeming qualities, in fact he has only one quality to speak of: Selfishness!

He risks his "girlfriend's" life for his selfish pleasure, he steals instead of working or doing good and by the end of the movie, he has not learned anything. Samuel L. Jackson's character is just as poorly written and one-dimensional.

The cinematography and locations along with the effects are fairly entertaining, but beyond that the film has little to offer. Better to catch it for free on TV sometime or wait about a year and it will be in the dollar bins.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Jumper (Good Effects?!)
Package recieved in good condition. Everything in the box was received in its proper place. No complaints on the delivery, package or the condition of either. The low rating was for the movie itself. The movie itself, is kind of weak. Yes, the the thought of being able to "Jump", is pretty awesome! The effects, and tools the "Jumper Cops" have, are pretty friggin cool too. CGI and special effects have come a long way. Also the Cast is pretty good too. But they take the effects away and the dude is still Anakin who wants everything the easy way. If you are reading this Hayden, props to you for participating, and on your performance; but the plot kind of fell short. Either way the cast was great, and their performances were great. I just think the movie could have been better.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Trite nonsense w/ stolen plots and special effects
Its apparent that Jumper has done well in world release, much better than the USA release. This is the type of movie that is shown frequently on airplanes. In fact I've watched this first on a flight without sound, and then later with sound on cable. Quite frankly the movie works exactly the same without sound as the dialogue is basic annoying emo angst nonsense filler.

The plot is thin and crafted for ADD teens who really don't care about logic and backstory. It also stars Baby Darth Vader from the horrid Star Wars prequels. His acting is right in line w/ SW Prequels, lots of furrowed brow glances and generic emo angst.

In short this is a pseudo sci fi flick not really about anything important with special effects that are Hollow Man + Matrix 2.

If you like air headed scripts, pointless chase scenes and banal dialogue, this is the film for you.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Only God must have this power
I can only imagine the fantasies of people when they can possess the ability to go anywhere, get anything, do anything and eventually be anything they want to be. Such is the power of Teleportation, the theme of Jumper. The movie has a somewhat slow start but once things are in place there's no looking back. Hayden Christens with his piercing gaze does a good job. But his jumper partner, with the Irish accent was both sick and snobbish. Although the movie does not explicitly reveal it Hayden does have a strong connection with his father at home and his mother who had abandoned him long ago. When he enquires about the same of his jumper partner (the guy with the accent) check out the answer the latter gives. Only a heartless snob would reply like that. Rachel Bilser was sweet and charming. Samuel L Jackson adds sparkle. One scene, the killing of a Jumper was brutal.

4 stars for all the excitement.

West Wing creator to pen epic internet tale

Be afraid, be very afraid - Sony has asked West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin to write a movie about how internet superphenomenon Facebook was spawned, and by way of research he's waded straight in with a group page down at the social networking website.…

Philippe Starck's latest creation — a plastic chair — earned its name on the first sketch: Mr. Impossible. The French designer said it simply couldn't be made. The challenge? The weld. Polycarbonate chairs are typically formed using a single mold, but Starck's translucent design required two: one for the legs, one for the seat. Fusing the parts using existing methods would mean an unsightly seam, so the engineers at Italian furniture maker Kartell had to forge a new technique. The key was a very big laser. Trained at specially formulated polycarbonate, it left a seam smooth enough to create the illusion Starck had imagined: a chair that appears to levitate. We reached across the ether to elicit the designer's thoughts. Like Starck's design, our conversation seemed to float on air.

Wired: What was the inspiration for Mr. Impossible?

Starck: The speed of evolution of our civilization and the dematerialization that rules all our production. Take the computer: It was the size of a room, then a briefcase. Now it's a credit card. You cannot dematerialize a chair completely, because you must continue to sit on it. But you can make it invisible. That's why I made the Mr. Impossible with a double shell — it's basically made of air.

Wired: Recently, you have begun to look at the environmental impact of your designs. How does a plastic chair fit in?

Starck: The stupidity of the ecological movement is that people kill trees for wood. It's ridiculous. The best ecological strategy is to make products of a very high creative quality, so you can keep them for three generations. I prefer to make a very good chair in the best polycarbonate than make any shit in wood that will be in the trash one year later.

Wired: Why not use recycled plastic?

Starck: It's a little joke of a material. You can do almost nothing with it. And I also refuse bioplastic, which comes from something that people can eat. Scientists agree that we have a real food problem, a famine approaching. It's a crime against humanity to take something you can eat and make a chair — or use it as gas for your SUV.

Wired: How do you reconcile those principles with your position as creative director for Virgin Galactic?

Starck: Every project should fit the big image of evolution. You can consider Virgin Galactic as something only for rich people, but you can also analyze the incredible help that it will give us. The exploration of space is a vital part of our evolution. We don't have any future if we don't go into space. This world will explode in 4 billion years. We have time, but not so much.

DENVER (Reuters) - To shouts of "Yes we can," Democrats nominated Barack Obama on Wednesday as their presidential candidate in a historic first for a black American, backed by his ex-rivals Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Before Barack Obama's surprise appearance, a tag team of Democrats, including Bill Clinton, piles on John McCain. And Joe Biden, Rove-style, goes right for McCain's supposed strength.
