Editorial Review:

Amazon.comNeil Simon wrote this 1976 spoof in which virtually every famous fictional detective of the 1930s and 1940s congregate at the home of a mysterious fellow (Truman Capote) to try and solve the mystery of who's trying to kill them all. Simon's jokes are mostly obvious, and the film's real appeal is the clever concept matched with fine--sometimes legendary--actors. Peter Falk plays a very Bogart-like Sam Spade equivalent, James Coco is a Hercule Poirot wannabe, Peter Sellers does a Charlie Chan bit, David Niven and Maggie Smith are reflections of Nick and Nora.... You get the picture. Lighthearted and silly, this is cotton-candy comedy for the cast as well as viewers. --Tom Keogh

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great comedy from before foul language
This movie has always been a favorite of mine. I originally saw it when it came out, and remember all the crazy stuff that went on. Later it became a thing where we would rent it every so often and watch it, waiting for certain parts. It draws on a great cast, a strange script, and sets that fit the storys mood. Its a film that would never be made today because they would never bring in so many great actors, and hire a top notch screenplay writer. Its easier now to just get one known actor, or a script that relies on foul language and gross jokes with whoever starring in it. I enjoy that type of movie too, but this is not like that. This is a fun movie, thats the best way to describe it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - True Classic!
This movie has been a favorite of ours for many, many years and finally got it on DVD to add to our collection.
This timeless mystery spoof is comedic genius. True all star cast.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A full rounded comedy to watch!
Robert Moore at the camera, Neil Simon as screenwriter and a set of formidable and golden actors make of this movie an enjoyable film to watch.

This sardonic black comedy begins when the best five detectives of the world are invited apparently for a dinner by an eccentric millionaire Lionel Twain (Truman Capote) with just a purpose: to demonstrate to all of them he is the number one; announcing that exactly at midnight there will be murder.

But the entire script is filled of funny and smart observations. Peter Sellers play the role of Wang - steals the show- (the famous detective) , Alec Guinness is the blind butler, Peter Falk is absorbing as the vulgar Sam Diamond (in a visible parody of Bogart in Casablanca), David Niven (Dick Charleston) and Maggie Smith make a real tour de force with this intelligent satire in which we will watch to Wang, Sherlock Holmes, Columbus, Hercules Poirot, and Mrs. Marble.

A true and brilliant comedy, and one of the three highest peaks of the genre in this decade (The prisoner of the Second avenue and Love and Death would be the other two, to my mind).

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - So good
this is 1 of my fav... movies truly classic comedy

it is aiso so hard to find

it is jest one of the best

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Still a great film
Murder by Death has been seen by millions of renters since Blockbuster has been around, and just recently (the past couple of years) they have sold their stock off. Fortunately though the DVD transfer of the original is great, and the movie holds up quite well. If you have found memories of the movie, or simply enjoy whodunits of the past century, buy this film.

Waiting patiently for the iPhone. The touch screen interests me but I have a huge music library and it only has a small amount of storage. Latest PC Laptops are too big to lug around if I want to quickly dash out for a meeting or a weekend trip. Apple eliminated the smaller of [...]

Amazon.com is offering a so-called Black Friday special on Eye-Fi Share:
The 2 GB Wi-Fi-enabled Secure Digital card normally runs $90; it's $65 while the sale lasts.

Given that Eye-Fi introduced a limited-time-only 4 GB "Anniversary" model that replaced the 2 GB Share version in its current line-up, and that the Anniversary model was $130 list but $100 for Costco members, it's pretty clear that the 2 GB won't re-appear, the 4 GB model will drop in price, and Amazon's acting as a clearance center.

The Eye-Fi Share lets you upload pictures over a local network to a designated computer, or upload via a Wi-Fi network for which the Eye-Fi is configured to connect over the Internet to Eye-Fi's servers, and from there to a specified photo-sharing, social-network, or photo-printing service.

I'm a fan of the Eye-Fi, although I favor the currently $130 Explore model (see my review), which comes with geotagging (via Skyhook Wireless) and adds a year of included uploading via Wayport locations (now part of AT&T).

This year has seen several young companies--including Orbius--offering to harness the power of social networking for business.

SAP co-CEO Henning Kagermann allegedly held strong concerns at one point about the legal implications of buying TomorrowNow, the now-shuttered SAP subsidiary tied to a lawsuit filed by rival vendor Oracle.
