Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Everything a TV show needs to be great.
I can honestly say Supernatural is my favorite TV show. I bought seasons 1 and 2 on a whim while I was deployed to Iraq, afraid it would turn out badly since it comes from the same network as Smallville (Smallville is good, but it doesn't compare to the shows that are airing now). It was a steal-$20 for each full season. Third season is just as great, despite Sam and Dean's dad (actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan) didn't make an appearance. I bought season three off iTunes but I plan to buy it on DVD for the extras alone. This show has it all-a great soundtrack, intense moments, intriguing plot, and excellent humor. I don't know of another show where two actors (Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki) actually act like true brothers like these two. The humor combined with a plot about ghost/demon/mythical creatures/urban legend hunting makes for an outstanding show. It's worth every cent you spend.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - paranormal holds its own on t.v.
It is a pleasure to see a intelligent and entertaining paranormal show on t.v. The big screen has long been the only place to enjoy a true shiver of fright. I do not include the slasher genre in true horror or the paranormal. The last good show for this on t.v. was the Xfiles and the last season of that show was beginning to push even my endurance.

Padaleckie and Ackles are young and beginning to mature in their art. It has been an absolute wonder to watch the relationship between these "brothers" grow over the last 3 years. The awkwardness between them in the first season made the long estrangement between Sam and his brother and father believable.

The many different types of "monsters, witches, gods and demons" are made all the more believable because the viewer can go to the internet and look up these beings for themselves. The writers have obviously done the research and most of the details are accurate. This just makes it more fun to watch.

I am looking forward to the 4th season with much anticipation. Keep the great shows coming.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not perfect but close.
This season was awesome. If the DVD release is anything like the previous 2 it will be an awesome set. The only thing I am upset with is the fact that there were only 16 parts of this season. Petty, yeah, but hey, I can be petty. The acting, writing, and episodes are pretty spot on. As for Bella, I really dont think she will be in season 4. Well, unless she can crawl. All in all, a great show, great acting, great writing, just was missing to much for me to be totally happy. I wanted more, not less!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Third Time's The Charm
Yes, my title may be obvious and a tad cliche, but it speaks the truth. While I hold season 1 amongst the highest of the three, the third season of Supernatural shows that this wonderful and brilliant show just keeps getting better and better. The third seasons of some of my favorite shows(Buffy, Angel, Gilmore)are my favorites. There's something about those threes. Supernatural is no different as this year provides what we have come to know and love about this great series. Mystery, thrills, chills, emotional pain, humor, action, classic rock, and an amazing family dynamic with brotherly camaraderie. Season thee also seems to up the blood quotient as well.

The main deal with season three largely looms on the shoulders of older brother, Dean Winchester(Jensen Ackles, who deserves an Emmy more and more)who, after his deal with the crossroads demon last season, only has a year to live. Thus, the season three story arc has the brothers desperatley trying to find a way out of this deal for Dean, while doing what they do best along the highways and byways of America.

The season opens with "The Magnificent Seven", a strong but not mesmerizing episode. Things only get better with the second episode, "The Kids Are Alright", which is a classic, kick butt episode of SN. A favorite of mine for the season. Things get mired in Grimm Fairy Tale mode with the great "Bedtime Stories", where our brothers encounter moments taken right out of the...well, bedtime stories we all know. Also tops on the list is the instant classic "A Very Supernatural Christmas", which is destined to be a yearly ritual now for SN fans. "Jus In Bello" is a brilliant little jail house under siege classic, and the hilarious "Ghostfacers" is a wonderful and hilarious experiment. The finale, "No Rest For The Wicked", may just be the best finale, and cliffhanger, the series has had. An ending that would make any fan want to hurry and fast forward thru summer for. Folks, there is more good here, but it's best you go and find these gems on your own. Not a bad one in the bunch. Well, "Red Sky At Morning" leaves something to be desired.

Season three was cut down from the usual 22 episodes to just 16 because of the writer's strike, but oh what 16 episodes. Who knows what other goodies we could of encountered had we had the rest of the season. One sore spot was the introduction of Bela and Ruby to the fold. Bela, while beautiful and charming with her accent, didn't seem to add anything to the show. Ruby(Katie Cassidy), actually seemed to have a place and a part to play, so she wasn't so bad. Otherwise, season three was another perfect example of why this show gets the attention(maybe not from it's own network) and acclaim it does. It's fresh, clever, inventive, deep, layered, scary, funny, you name it. Season three shows a show whose own self identity, as well as it's actors, writers, and directors, just keeps getting better season by season. Year 4 can't come soon enough.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best season yet of Supernatural!
I have watched all the season's of Supernatural and feel that with each season the show gets better. I loved season three, didn't care for Bella, but RUBY? Now she is another story. Some of the nay sayers on here for some reason have an issue with her. I feel she greatly added to the show and really hope they keep her in the coming seasons. There were plenty of stand alone episodes, but of course Dean's deal was going to be the MOST important part of season 3. How anyone could NOT get why he made that deal is beyond me, just re-watch 1 & 2 and maybe you will understand. His love for Sam, his feelings of responsibilty for him? Come on, it wasn't such a stretch. I felt this was the best season yet and look forward to many more!

(Source: Premiere Global Services) IT executives seeking ways to reduce the total cost of ownership of faxing without impacting productivity or service, can consider the business case for internet fax.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Palm Inc unveiled a Treo smartphone Wednesday based on Microsoft Corp software to compete for business users against rivals such as Research In Motion's BlackBerry.

Welcome back, mile-high Wi-Fi: American Airlines has turned on Internet service in its fleet of 15 767-200s today. These aircraft ply routes between New York's JFK and three cities: San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Miami. Service is $13 per flight, and bandwidth is expected to be 1.5 Mbps (uncompressed) upstream and downstream, although the service provider, Aircell, claims some advantages above that.

This is a big day for Aircell, which spent tens of millions to acquire the exclusive spectrum license that allows them to shoot Mbps to and from planes. My big question will be whether coverage remains seamless across an entire flight--how often one has to reconnect their VPN would be a big issue. If Aircell has architected the network correctly, passengers should never be reassigned an IP address, and connections shouldn't be dropped even if there's a hiccup in air-to-ground communication.

I chatted via Skype--text only, thank you--with Aircell CEO Jack Blumenstein this morning who is quite literally walking on air on an American flight. Blumenstein said it's remarkable even to him to be communicating with other airborne people across "a veritable airforce of AA planes spread out across the skies." Aircell has been working towards this in one form or another for many, many years. And now they get bragging rights at being first, even if it's a pilot project.

I've covered in-flight broadband for several years, and I've been wondering lately whether we'd be waiting until 2009 to see real production service. American is calling this a 3-to-6 month pilot to see what their passengers think. Just yesterday, I wrote up veteran travel writer Joe Brancatelli's frustration with the lack of information and some misinformation about in-flight broadband.

You can read more background on American's plans and Aircell's technology in a post I wrote for BoingBoing on 24-June-2008.

Suzanne Marta of the Dallas Morning News was liveblogging this morning from a flight to Los Angeles, as was Peter Ha at Crunchgear, who measured 1.7 Mbps downstream. Ha's broadband test relies on having no other active users on a network slowing down the test, so the real speeds up and down could be much higher.
