Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Tudors 1 - Fact or Fiction
I have now viewed all of the first series, well, there is now doubt the emphasis is on sexual content, rather than historic content.
It may be that the historical content is so well known, that they had to do something to make it interesting!
Why, did they have to make a show of the king masturbating into a towel held by one of his man servants!!!
That aside, the costumes were stunning and the casting was excellent.
If you want to watch a softporn series, great, go for it.
I await the second series with anticipation . . .
Just to see if the producers can come up with something interesting in the story line, if they dare!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Which Number Wife Will The Series End With?
The Tudors - Season 2Does anyone know if the producers of this series plan to go all the way through to Catherine Parr (wife #6)? I can't imagine the guy playing Henry VIII allowing his character to grow old and fat, even though that is what really happened.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Although not historically accurate, still very entertaining
While it isn't an accurate account of Henry's life, it is still very entertaining to watch. I think the actor's are good, there is plenty of drama, great sets and costumes etc. I am not a historian OR a movie critic; just a regular TV viewer. I enjoyed it on Showtime and now again on DVD.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Pretty period piece
I would never expect Showtime to produce first rate historical drama. That is not what they do. Showtime is in the business of slick entertainment, and that's exactly what they've given us in The Tudors. With the exception of PBS and, at times, The History Channel, it is fatuous to count on the entertainment industry to teach us history.

Viewed as mere entertainment, The Tudors is a success. It's got visual impact, conspiracy, treachery, sex, arrogance, and power plays. And beautiful people in all the important roles. Television so often offers so little in the way of compelling programing that this series is a welcome way to while away a rainy evening. But for true Tudor history, find a good book.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - If You're Really Interested in Tudor History...
I greatly enjoy dramas that recreate history; however, after reading some of the reviews of "The Tudors," I think I'll beg off on watching this series. For those truly interested in learning more about the Tudors, an excellent resource is a 48-lecture college course, "History of England From the Tudors to the Stuarts," taught by Prof Robert Bucholz of Loyola University. The course is available on DVD through The Teaching Company (www.TEACH12.com).

As though the flood of WTF-type phone concepts weren't enough, KDDI revealed a proof of concept for a wireless, color, e-paper display they have in the works. The idea is that a cellphone would be used to broadcast a signal to the display via infrared. The 13.1-inch display can display up to 4,096 colors and refresh the onscreen image in 12 seconds. KDDI says the display is intended for the finance and insurance industries, where the need to view A4-sized documents are apparently key. [Tech-On]

This is gaining even more traction with the inclusion of Ribbon in the official MSDN Windows Vista User Experience (UX) Guidelines. It had been also known as Command Bar [...]
